Canyon Creek is located in Northwest Austin. The Balcones Canyonland Preserve provides the eastern boundary for Canyon Creek, wrapping around it from the south to the north. The western boundary is off of RM620, just south of Anderson Mill Rd., where the neighborhood can accessed. The main entrance to Canyon Crrek is Boulder Lane, with access points on the north and south sides.

The Balcones Canyonland Preserve, along with the two parks, Trailhead and Canyon Creek, provide a natural setting with many amenities. They include a Junior Olympic Pool, soccer field, baseball diamond, basket ball and tennis courts, playground and playscapes, as well as hike and bike trails. Canyon Creek is only seven miles from Lake Travis and close to plenty of shopping at Lakeline Mall.

The homes in Canyon Creek Austin range in price from the low $200,000's up to the mid $500,000's. The residents of Canyon Creek Austin are served by both the ROUND ROCK ISD and LEANDER ISD. The Round Rock ISD schools include Canyon Creek Elementary, Grisham Middle School and Westwood High School. The Leander ISD schools include Cypress Elementary, Canyon Ridge Middle School, and Cedar Park High School.
